At the Center for the Future of Learning, we believe in dreaming with young people, not just on their behalf. Since day one, youth have been central to Nevada’s vision to reimagine what learning can look like. For us, intergenerational co-creation isn’t a side note; it’s a heartbeat. It’s how we build, how we learn, and how we lead.

We know that lasting change only happens when those most impacted by a system are shaping its transformation. That’s why we lean into proximate leadership, learning with and from young people as designers, storytellers, strategists, and activators of the future.

Young people bring an unmatched kind of expertise to this work. Their lived experiences, creativity, and courage push us beyond the status and open bold new pathways for learning that is human and hopeful. Co-creating with young people leads to solutions that allow young people to do real work that matters, in public.

That’s exactly why we’re so excited to launch Futurescapers, where we are hiring 13 young people to help us reimagine the future of learning. This summer, a brilliant group of young people will be gathering stories, sharing experiences, and lighting the path forward for the future of learning in Nevada. It’s the next chapter in a journey that began with our IAN Hub pilot, where youth vision sparked something powerful. You can read more about that origin story here: The IAN Hub: Where Youth Vision Sparked a Movement

As we celebrate the groundwork laid by our Portrait Activators and look ahead to this new chapter with Futurescapers, this is the perfect moment to reflect on what meaningful youth collaboration really looks like and how it’s moving the Nevada Future of Learning Network forward.
